The most common Zerg flier is a large, segmented, winged worm (though their flight is at least partially psionic, as they're also capable of flight in trace atmosphere and vacuum) that spits smaller worms. These “glaive worms” burrow through the target's armor, shredding electronics, mechanical systems, and/or internal organs – and then, if possible, leap to a nearby target, and burrow into that one. The glaive worm falls apart within seconds of the attack, successful or not. The corrupter (or devourer) is a variant strain that spits air-to-air “acid spores,” corrosive slime that eats away at enemy vessels' armor.
