Swarming at the vanguard of any Zerg force are the ubiquitous zerglings – small compared to other Zerg, “only” the size of a great cat or small pony, with the temperament of a fight-trained pit-bull on anabolic steroids. Their talons can punch through solid steel, and while not too hard to dispatch with heavy automatic weapons, if they get close enough to strike, they can tear a battlesuit apart in seconds. Broodlings are virtually identical to zerglings, distinct only in that they're spawned by giant flying Zerg (brood lords) and dropped on enemies.
